First LH2 Safety workshop held at the Campus Technologies Grenoble
Around forty participants actively involved in liquid hydrogen gathered at the Campus Technologies Grenoble to share their experience and expertise in safety management for mobility activities!
On January 18th and 19th 2023, the H2E WBL WIM team and the AL-aT Direction Technique & Innovation team organized a workshop dedicated to liquid hydrogen safety. The organizers gathered experts from different Air Liquide entities (AL-aT, E&C, Cryolor, IM, ICP, SIS and H2E WBL) to discuss best practices and challenges regarding liquid hydrogen safety management.
The workshop's first objective was to offer an overview of the most recent progress in liquid hydrogen safety across the different actors. Our goal being zero accident, a significant part of the workshop focused on the state of art addressing the accidentology, hazards and consequences of handling liquid hydrogen as well as operations return of experience.
Most importantly, this workshop was a fantastic opportunity to dynamise a community of experts, users, and to introduce newcomers to the field.
As the business activity of liquid hydrogen is growing, this workshop provided a solid foundation to establish and give access to a common referential for all parties. Moreover, the workshop was used as an information gathering platform to create a common roadmap to further promote and develop LH2 safety at Air Liquide.
A big thank you to the presenters for their involvement and to the participants for their active contributions to the discussions!
